Access to the voucher system for Free School Meals
The DFE announced that a voucher system will be put in place so that schools will distribute to those pupils who are eligible to receive a free school meal, once this information is available.
Pupils who are attending the academy will still receive their meals when they are on site. We will also be supplying any child who is entitled to a Free School Meal with a packed lunch that can be collected daily from the academy until the National Voucher system is put in place.
Universal Free Schools Meals were not included in this announcement. This is the free meal that pupils receive up to the age of 7. For any child who is not entitled to receive a free school meal, parents are asked to pay for their child’s school meal in the normal way. If parents do have concerns about providing meals for children once the academies/ schools close, please contact the Principal and we will help and support you all we can. We have made links with local supermarkets in order to provide support for any family which requires this.
If you are unsure as to whether your child may be entitled to a free school meal then please visit https://www.doncaster.gov.uk/doitonline/free-school-meals and submit the online application for an immediate decision.
