Modeshift STARS

Modeshift STARS (Sustainable Travel Accreditation and Recognition for Schools) encourages schools across the country to join in a major effort to increase levels of sustainable and active travel in order to improve the health and well-being of children and young people.

We have achieved our Bronze Award.

Walking Bubble

Research conducted by Modeshift STARS has found that many parents (six in ten) are concerned about the increasing levels of traffic around school. Walking, cycling or scooting to school are the most accessible ways to reduce congestion and pollution as well as increasing the mental and physical wellbeing of pupils. Our Walking Bubble will hopefully encourage families to park 5 minutes away from the school gates and make the final leg of the school journey on foot. By reducing the amount of traffic at the school gates will not only help reduce congestion and improve air quality, but will also increase road safety too.

Our Walking Bubble poster below will show you where our protective 'Bubble' is around our school. For families that have to travel by car, please try to park at least 5-minute away from school, creating a safer space for walking, cycling and scooting.
